Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar Pays Surprise Visit to Mustering Centre and Inspects Attendance

Bengaluru, Sept. 14:

This morning, Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar, paid a surprise visit to the BSNL Mustering Point at Bhuvanagiri Park in Banaswadi, located in the Sarvagnanagar Constituency, to inspect the attendance of pourakarmikas.

During the inspection, it was observed that Supervisor Balaji was absent. Supervisor K. Suresh Kumar, who was present at the location, was instructed to record attendance. Out of a total of 48 pourakarmikas, 15 were found to be absent. The pourakarmikas who were present were deployed from the mustering centre to carry out their assigned sanitation duties, and the supervisors were instructed to identify the absent workers. Accordingly, the supervisors identified 15 individuals as being absent.

To verify the accuracy of this identification, one of the pourakarmikas was called and asked whether the absentee list had been honestly compiled. It was revealed that 6 of the Pourakarmikas who were actually present had been incorrectly marked as absent, and it also came to the Commissioner’s attention that the supervisors did not even know the names of the pourakarmikas working under their supervision.

As a result, the Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action against both supervisors, Balaji and K. Suresh Kumar.

Black Spot Clean-Up and Beautification Drive

Following continuous field inspections and directives from the Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (Development), a clean-up and beautification initiative targeting identified black spots (areas prone to garbage dumping) within the limits of Bengaluru North City Corporation has been accelerated.

The inspection was also attended by Joint Commissioner Mohammed Naem Momin, officials from the Solid Waste Management Department, and other staff members.
