





Bengaluru, December 16:
The Chief Commissioner, Maheshwar Rao, instructed officials to allot shops at the Palike Bazaar in Vijayanagar through an e-auction process in accordance with prescribed rules.
Speaking during an inspection of various locations under the GBA jurisdiction today, the Chief Commissioner stated that 79 shops will be available in the air-conditioned Palike Bazaar, and directed officials to immediately initiate the e-auction process and ensure transparent allotment as per norms.
He also instructed officials to strictly regulate unauthorized commercial activities around the Palike Bazaar and directed that a separate Revenue Officer be appointed exclusively for monitoring the premises.
Construction of New Building at Srirampuram Maternity Hospital:The existing Srirampuram Maternity Hospital is a single-storey, old structure with a capacity of 30 beds, handling 4–6 deliveries daily and catering to 200–300 outpatients every day. Under the Brand Bengaluru Project, the old building will be demolished and replaced with a well-equipped four-storey building with 50 beds. Officials were instructed to commence the work immediately.
MC Layout Multi-Specialty Hospital:The Multi-Specialty Hospital located at MC Layout, Govindarajanagar, must be made fully functional. Officials were directed to submit a comprehensive report detailing the required number of doctors and staff, necessary medical equipment, and measures needed to ensure optimal utilization of the hospital.
Mudlapalya Maternity Hospital:Under the Brand Bengaluru Project, the Mudlapalya Maternity Hospital is being upgraded from 12 beds to 30 beds. Officials were instructed to begin the work without delay.
Inspection of Indira Kitchen:The Chief Commissioner inspected the Indira Canteen and the Kitchen near Deepanjali Nagar and instructed staff to maintain strict cleanliness at all times. He also noted sewage water overflowing from a drainage chamber at the site and directed BWSSB officials to resolve the issue immediately.
Hosakerehalli Maternity Hospital:Development works are underway at the Hosakerehalli Maternity Hospital under the Brand Bengaluru Project, including construction of a new ramp, pharmacy, emergency unit, operation theatre, and expansion of bed capacity from 30 to 50 beds. Officials were instructed to start work immediately and complete it within the stipulated timeline.
White Topping Works to Be Completed Expeditiously:
The 1 km White Topping road project from Koramangala towards Sarjapur has been completed on one side, while footpath development is in progress. Officials were instructed to open the completed stretch to vehicular traffic immediately and to take up White Topping work on the remaining stretch and complete it at the earliest.
Other Key Instructions Issued During Inspection:
* Expedite development of entry and exit points on the Outer Ring Road
* Repair the road from Ayyappa Underpass to Madiwala Police Station
* Restore and repair lifts at the HSR Skywalk on Outer Ring Road
* Prevent waterlogging near the Indian Petrol Bunk
* Repair damaged pipes on the Agar Junction flyover
During the inspection, Additional Commissioner Digvijay Bodke, Joint Commissioner Sangappa, Additional Director (Town Planning) Girish, Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad,Vishwanath, and other officials were present.
