Improvement in Cleanliness at K.R. Market Due to Intensive Cleaning Drives
The Additional Commissioner (Development) of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Daljit Kumar, today visited K.R. Market in the city and inspected the parking works being carried out in the basement of the market building.
K.R. Market is a historic and heritage building that attracts thousands of customers every day. As there is no proper parking facility in the surrounding areas, the basement parking facility being developed at K.R. Market will be convenient for the public and will also ensure the safety of vehicles, he said.
Further, he stated that the parking project is in its final stage and instructed the engineers and contractors to complete the remaining works at the earliest, including providing electricity connection, drainage arrangements for rainwater in the basement, fire safety measures, and other related works, and to open the facility for public use as soon as possible.
Instructions to Further Strengthen the Intensive Cleaning Drive:
He stated that due to the intensive cleaning drives already carried out in and around K.R. Market, there has been a significant improvement in cleanliness. He instructed the officials to ensure segregation and removal of waste generated in and around the market and to further strengthen the intensive cleaning drives to transform the market into a clean and hygienic place for traders and the general public. He also instructed that the toilets in the market premises should be maintained in a clean condition.
During the inspection, Superintendent Engineer Chandrashekhar, DGM Bhimesh Nayak, Executive Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, and Assistant Executive Engineers were present.
