BBMP to remove unauthorized OFCs in the month of March:

Bengaluru: Mar. 04:

The “Unauthorized OFC Removal Drive—March 2025” has been set up by the BBMP in its limit, and the removal process has begun.

The Chief Commissioner has issued a circular regarding the removal of OFCs installed illegally from 3rd March 2025 in the BBMP limit.

Accordingly, OFCs installed illegally on the roads within the ward limits of all 8 zones of the city have to be removed, and the entire responsibility for this has been given to the Assistant Engineers (AE) and Junior Engineers (JE) of the wards. The Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) have been instructed to supervise the process of the OFC removal drive.

The unauthorized installation of cables on trees and electric poles in the zone limits, which are visible above the ground level, also spoils the beauty of the city. In this regard, the OFC cable clearance drive will be carried out effectively in all zones in the month of March.

After the unauthorized cable is removed, the installation teams should ensure that unauthorized cables are not installed again in the same route and place.

Clearance drive in 2 Zones: Unauthorized OFC cables were removed today in the Mahadevapura zone and the East zone limits of BBMP.Clearance drives were carried out on Marathahalli Main Road, Kaggadasapura, and Doddanekkundi of Mahadevapur Zone and the Halsur limits in the East Zone. Similarly, the clearance operation will be carried out in a phased manner in all the zones.
