Blueprint to be Prepared for Maintaining Cleanliness Around K.R. Market: Rajendra Cholan

In an effort to maintain cleanliness in and around the K.R. Market area, Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner, Rajendra Cholan, has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive blueprint.

During an inspection visit to K.R. Market along with senior officials today, the Commissioner stated that the market generates a large amount of organic waste, which must be disposed of scientifically. He emphasized the need for a detailed and integrated plan, directing officials to develop a blueprint and implement it in phases.

The market reportedly generates approximately 70 tonnes of waste daily, which is currently being processed in three shifts. He instructed that waste should not be dumped indiscriminately and that efforts must be made to ensure cleanliness at all times. The waste collection points must be kept clean, and attention must be paid to maintaining hygienic conditions throughout the market premises.

The Commissioner also noted that vendors were encroaching upon pedestrian pathways in front of the market. He directed that appropriate action be taken to address such encroachments.

Meeting with Officials:To discuss matters related to cleanliness and other issues concerning K.R. Market, the Chief Engineer was instructed to immediately convene a meeting with city corporation engineers, revenue officers, and officials from the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited.

New Smart Parking System:A tender has been floated for the development of a smart parking system on the ground floor of K.R. Market. The Commissioner instructed officials to conduct a site inspection and expedite the completion of the project.

Chief Engineer Vijay Kumar Haridas, Assistant Executive Engineers, revenue officers, and other senior officials were present during the visit.
