“CII Karnataka Infrastructure Conclave 2025: Charts the Roadmap for a Future-Ready, Sustainable and Connected Karnataka”

18 December 2025, Bengaluru : CII Karnataka Infrastructure Conclave 2025  ‘Building a Future-Ready Karnataka: Sustainable, Connected, and Resilient Infrastructure’ was organised today at Bengaluru.

Mr Jayaprakash IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic North Division, Bangalore City, Government of Karnataka emphasized “Urban decongestion demands a people-centric approach. Measures such as skywalks at critical junctions can significantly ease pedestrian and traffic pressure, but long-term infrastructure planning must always prioritise human movement over mere construction. Traffic management is a shared responsibility, and with collective participation and tools like the BTP AstraM App, we can work together towards smoother and safer mobility,”

“Infrastructure is the true economic multiplier it shapes productivity, liveability, and long-term competitiveness. As cities expand, especially in Tier-II and Tier-III regions, the focus must shift from isolated projects to affordable, resilient, and people-centric urban systems. Technology can accelerate this journey, but only when built on strong foundations of mobility, housing, and utilities. Karnataka stands at a critical inflection point, where institutionalised public–private collaboration can move us from pilots to scalable platforms and create cities that are not just smarter, but truly liveable and globally competitive.” said Mr Ramesh Ramadurai, Past Chairman CII Karnataka & Managing Director, 3M India Region

Mr V.P.Brahmankar, Regional Officer, National Highway Authority of India Karnataka highlighted “Building safer and more efficient cities calls for a focused approach anchored in the five E’s—Education, Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency response, and Evaluation. Together, these elements help reduce fatalities and strengthen traffic management. With advanced traffic management systems in place, we are identifying black spots, enabling round-the-clock surveillance, and proactively addressing emerging urban mobility risks. By combining immediate corrective actions with long-term strategic measures, we are creating safer roads and more sustainable cities.”

Sustainable urban progress demands a balanced approach with strong engineering, disciplined enforcement, smart technology, and responsible behaviour. This integrated framework is essential for safer roads, reduced congestion, and SDG-aligned city development.” cited Dr Sanjeev Kishore (Rtd), General Manager, Southwestern Railway

Mr Pawan Kumar Singh, Convenor CII Karnataka Infrastructure and Urban Mobility Panel & Director, Transportation and Electronics Business Group, 3M India Region cited “Infrastructure is no longer just about assets it is the foundation of growth, competitiveness, and quality of life. With national frameworks like the NIP and PM Gati Shakti enabling integrated, multi-modal development, Karnataka is well positioned to leverage its industrial strength and policy momentum to drive the next phase of infrastructure-led growth. By strengthening Tier-II cities and building a coordinated State Infrastructure Pipeline, we can create a future-ready, inclusive, and resilient growth ecosystem.”

During the Inaugural Session the White Paper on “Sustainable Urban Progress: Karnataka’s Vision for the Future” was released presenting a holistic, future-ready roadmap integrating engineering, governance, technology, and behavioural interventions to enhance road safety, multimodal connectivity, women’s safety, and inclusive urban mobility in alignment with SDG 11.
