Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Rajendra Cholan, has directed officials to undertake comprehensive development works at Freedom Park located within the limits of the Central City Corporation.
During his inspection visit to Freedom Park this morning, the Commissioner instructed the officials to take up measures for the park’s overall improvement, including providing adequate electrical connections, drinking water facilities, well-maintained walking tracks for visitors, and robust security arrangements.
Construction of Proper Walking Paths:The Commissioner directed officials to develop smooth and safe walking paths within the park, especially for senior citizens, women, and children who visit for morning and evening walks.
Establishment of a Kids’ Park:He instructed the officials to set up a dedicated Kids’ Park equipped with play equipment for children visiting the park.
Provision of Restroom Facilities:The Commissioner emphasized the need to establish adequate restroom facilities for public convenience and directed that cleanliness within the park be strictly maintained.
Plantation and Maintenance of Saplings:Officials were instructed to plant more saplings and ensure their proper maintenance. He also directed them to remove dry and hazardous trees and branches to enhance safety and aesthetics.
Commercial Utilization of Multilevel Parking Building Rooftop:Inspecting the multilevel parking facility adjacent to the park, the Commissioner suggested that the rooftop space be utilized for commercial activities such as exhibitions and sales, thereby generating additional revenue for the Corporation.
Penalty for Dumping Construction Debris on Roads:During the inspection, the Commissioner noticed that debris, iron rods, gravel, and sand from ongoing construction works were being dumped on the roads, causing inconvenience to commuters. He instructed officials to remove the debris immediately and impose penalties on the respective property owners.
The Commissioner also inspected the adjoining roads near Freedom Park and directed officials to ensure proper disposal of coconut shells and waste generated by tender coconut vendors instead of leaving them by the roadside. Additionally, he instructed for the regular maintenance of footpaths to ensure pedestrian safety and convenience.
Present during the inspection were Additional Commissioner for Development Daljit Kumar, Joint Commissioners Ranganath and Hemant Sharan, Chief Engineers Vijay Kumar Haridas and Suguna, Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials.
