Compliance with Fire and Electrical Safety Measures Mandatory During Christmas and New Year Celebrations: Pommala Sunil Kumar

In view of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Commissioner of Bengaluru North City Corporation, Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar, has issued strict directions mandating compulsory compliance with fire safety and electrical safety measures during the organization of events at all malls, pubs, five-star hotels, bars and restaurants within the city corporation limits.

Addressing a meeting held today at the Mini Vidhana Soudha, Yelahanka, with owners and representatives of all malls, pubs, five-star hotels, bars and restaurants, the Commissioner emphasized that, in the interest of public safety, all establishments must strictly adhere to fire and electrical safety norms while organizing events. He further instructed them to ensure effective crowd management and compliance with all statutory safety regulations.

Key instructions issued during the meeting:

– All firefighting equipment must be maintained in proper working condition.

– Electrical connections and installations must conform to prescribed safety standards.

– Emergency exit routes must be kept clear and accessible at all times.

– Proper coordination must be maintained with concerned departments.

– It is mandatory for all staff of malls, pubs, five-star hotels, bars and restaurants to undergo fire safety training and participate in mock drills. These training sessions and mock drills must be conducted exclusively in the Kannada language to ensure effective response during emergency situations.

– Strict action will be taken as per rules against establishments failing to comply with these instructions.

The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioners Shri Mohammed Naem Momin and Smt. Pallavi, along with officials from the Health Department, Police Department, Fire and Emergency Services Department, and BESCOM.
