Inspection of PGs and Hostels to Ensure Compliance with GBA Act – Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar

Bengaluru, Nov. 11:

Additional Commissioner (Development) Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar has announced that comprehensive inspection drives will be undertaken to identify and take action against unauthorized and illegal Paying Guest (PG) and hostel accommodations operating within the limits of the Bengaluru East City Corporation.

In the interest of public health and safety, strict enforcement will be carried out against PGs and hostels functioning in residential areas for commercial or non-residential purposes in violation of the provisions, terms, and conditions prescribed under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Act, 2024.

To ensure effective implementation, the East City Corporation has appointed the Health Officers of each zone as Nodal Officers. Under their supervision, inspection teams have been constituted to conduct checks and enforcement activities as per the prescribed schedule.

Inspection Schedule and Sub-Divisions:

Mahadevapura Zone: Under the leadership of Nodal Officer Dr. Rakesh N., inspections will be conducted in Hoodi, Whitefield, and Marathahalli sub-divisions on November 12, 13, and 14 respectively, starting from 9:00 a.m.

KR Puram Zone: Under the leadership of Nodal Officer Dr. K. M. Vishveshwarayya, inspections will be conducted in Horamavu, KR Puram, and HAL sub-divisions on November 12, 13, and 14 respectively, starting from 9:00 a.m.

The Additional Commissioner has instructed that inspection and regulatory measures against unauthorized PGs and hostels be carried out in coordination, strictly adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and following the pre-determined route map on the specified dates.
