Instructions to Inspect Unauthorized PGs and Ensure Safety Measures,Remove Encroachments on Footpaths: Rajendra Cholan

With the objective of directly hearing citizens’ grievances and providing prompt solutions, the Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Shri P. Rajendra Cholan, today conducted a Phone-In Programme, during which 29 citizens raised a total of 35 issues over the telephone.

Within the Central City Corporation limits, seven complaints related to footpath encroachments were received today. Addressing these complaints, the Commissioner instructed the officials to identify and remove encroachments on footpaths.

Ensure Effective Removal of Dry Trees and Overhanging Branches:Complaints were also received regarding dry trees and overhanging branches. In this regard, the Commissioner directed the Forest Department officials to function effectively and ensure the removal of dry trees and branches within the Central City Corporation limits.

Inspection of Unauthorized PGs:Complaints were raised during the Phone-In Programme stating that residents of PG accommodations—young men and women—were creating disturbances by gathering on roads late at night and speaking loudly, causing inconvenience to nearby residents. Responding to these concerns, the Commissioner instructed officials to inspect such PGs, take appropriate action, and ensure the implementation of necessary safety measures across PG accommodations within the Central City Corporation limits.

Ensure Prompt Redressal of Citizens’ Grievances:The Commissioner directed the officials present to examine all issues received from citizens through the Phone-In Programme and ensure their prompt resolution.

Present during today’s Phone-In Programme were Additional Commissioner (Development) Daljit Kumar, Joint Commissioner Hemant Sharan, Chief Engineers Vijayakumar Haridas and Suguna, Superintending Engineer Chandrashekhar, Executive Engineers, and officials from the Horticulture, Forest, Town Planning, Finance, Animal Husbandry, and other departments.
