Bengaluru: Feb. 21:
“The roads in Bengaluru can be developed and maintained in good condition if the BBMP, various government departments, and especially all the citizens of the city work together,” Chief Secretary to Govt. Mrs. Shalini Rajneesh stated.
Chief Secretary to Govt. Mrs. Shalini Rajneesh spoke at the “BBMP Engineers Capacity Building” workshop on the second day of “Namma Raste 2025” and congratulated for organising the event. She also stressed the importance of the “Namma Raste” event and stated that if the public cooperates with the Government, the roads can be maintained in good condition.
As much as Bengaluru’s people are pleased with the city’s weather, they are also dissatisfied with its roadways. She stated that a comprehensive guide to the city’s roads has been provided here, allowing one to see the severity of the issue and its solutions.
Bengaluru is growing day by day, and people are more interested in coming to the city. Although we plan projects based on population, both traffic and population growth are out of control. “We need to do an in-depth study on how to control it,” she said.
“Our own solution to our own problem”: What actions may residents take to control city traffic? “Namma Bengaluru – our road, our own problem – our own solution” is something that all citizens should consider. Only by working together we can solve the current issue and contribute to favourable results.
Arrangements need to be made for last mile connectivity:
Even if a citizen of Bengaluru has to use public transport, there is a problem of last-mile connectivity. In this regard, the problem can be solved by arranging electric vehicles, shared transport and other vehicles in collaboration with private organisations to provide public transport connectivity.
Chief Commissioner Mr Tushar Giri Nath said that it is important to ensure that all work done within the limits of the BBMP follows a uniform model. He stated that the standard procedure in “Namma Raste Kaipidi,” which was released in this regard, ought to be appropriately followed.
Every point in Namma Raste handbook should be properly implemented by engineers. When working on projects for the BBMP, the BWSSB water line, the drainage system, BESCOM/KPTCL cables and OFC, it’s essential to use the right form and place for ducts.”It is our responsibility to ensure that the work we do lasts for many years,” he said.Engineer in Chief B.S. Prahalad, Chief Engineers Shashikumar, Lokesh, Rajesh and other concerned officials were present at this event.
