Bengaluru, Mar. 16:
In order to maintain cleanliness within the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation and to develop a waste-free city corporation, as well as to secure a better rank at the national level in the Swachh Survekshan 2025–26 rankings, a mega cleanliness drive will be launched from tomorrow by the Central City Corporation. Commissioner Rajendra Cholan has instructed officials to prepare an action plan and take up cleanliness activities accordingly.
Major activities under the cleanliness drive:
1. Removal of all types of accumulated waste at bus shelters/bus stops and maintaining cleanliness.
2. Clearing waste around BESCOM transformers and ensuring cleanliness.
3. Removal of waste from vacant sites and maintaining cleanliness.
4. Clearing waste around temples and maintaining cleanliness.
5. Removal of waste at heritage/historical sites and maintaining cleanliness.
6. Clearing waste in parks and playgrounds and ensuring cleanliness.
7. Removal of accumulated waste near pedestrian flyovers and underpasses.
8. Clearing waste around major stormwater drains and maintaining cleanliness.
9. Removal of waste around lakes and ensuring cleanliness.
10. Clearing waste around public toilets and maintaining cleanliness.
11. Removal of waste around markets and maintaining cleanliness.
12. Clearing waste around road dividers and traffic islands and maintaining cleanliness.
13. Cleaning of Red and Yellow Spots.
14. Removal of waste around slum areas and maintaining cleanliness.
15. Clearing waste around government schools and colleges and within their premises to maintain cleanliness.
16. Writing Swachch Bharat campaign slogans on the compound walls of public toilets and government buildings.
Coordinated implementation:
To ensure the successful implementation of the cleanliness drive, all Divisional Assistant General Managers of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation have been instructed to coordinate with officials from the Engineering, Forest, Horticulture, Stormwater Drain, Lakes and other departments and implement the activities under their supervision. Development Additional Commissioner Daljit Kumar has issued the order in this regard.
