The pre-race venue for all runners is Rajendra Sinhji Army Officers Institute (RSAOI) and post-race engagements are at Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground. Runners across categories – 10K (Open & Elite), Majja Run, Champions with Disability and the Silvers’ Run will congregate at the iconic Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground and take off on a scenic journey that winds past Bengaluru’s famous landmarks.

With the guidance of the Bengaluru Police, Procam International has carefully crafted a new and improved route for the participants. Ulsoor Lake will feature prominently, with participants enjoying a scenic 3km stretch alongside it. The Open 10K route boasts only two U-turns, ensuring a fast-paced run. The Open 10K runners will also run past the Chinnaswamy Stadium, High Court and the majestic Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Karnataka state legislature, exemplifying the spirit of ‘Endendigu Bengaluru’

Speaking at the Technical Press Conference, Race Director, Hugh Jones said, “This year’s race is using a lot of the same roads, but with a different balance to it. The new start and finish are pretty much on high ground and the course goes out and back a few times, so it will be interesting to see how participants will pace themselves in the final stretch.”

Emphasising the medical preparations that will be in place, Dr. Vivek Jawali – Chairman Cardiac Sciences, Fortis Hospitals & Medical Director of the event said, “I’ve been associated with the run for 16 years. This year with the new venue, we had to reorient ourselves to ensure all preparations. We are also experiencing an unprecedented heat wave in Bengaluru and so our advice to all runners is to plan their hydration properly along the route.”

Shedding more light on the medical preparations for the event, he further added, “We have created five medical stations, every two kilometers along the route. The holding area where the mini hospital has been created is equipped with 30 beds. There are a total of 12 ambulances and two mini-ambulances, and we also have spotters along the route to look out for anybody who might need medical attention.”

Smt. Shashikala, ACP Bengaluru Traffic Police, Central Sub-Division spoke about the arrangements made for Race Day. She said, “We have ensured that there will be a smooth flow of traffic on the day of the TCS World 10k Bengaluru. There are a few roads where parking will be prohibited while traffic on a few other roads will be diverted. There are also a few roads where traffic will be restricted. We have arranged for designated pick up and drop points for taxi services as well. We request the public and the participants to co-operate with us so that there is a free flow of traffic on the Race Day.”

Representing  Abhilash MM – Assistant Executive Engineer (SWM) BBMP commended the TCS World 10K Bengaluru’s commitment to limiting waste generation, he said, “In any event, the first thing we look at is the amount of waste generation and how we can recycle this waste. This is the first event that we’ve observed to have absolutely zero waste after its completion. Moreover, the volunteers from Procam take the initiative upon themselves to ensure the streets are clean. This is something that makes us very happy with the event. The fact that this year’s edition will go through a new route means that more of this beautiful city of Bengaluru will be explored. We are glad that the organizers have tied up with us at BBMP. It allows us to show you the real Bengaluru.”
