This mega Tree Plantation event was held at two venues – Composite School Campus, Dabha
Semar and at Dr RamManohar Lohia Avadh University – IET campus. To participate in the event,
more than 80 volunteers from different parts of the country mainly from Karnataka and Kerala
travelled to Ayodhya. The events were graced by Former minister & MP Lallu Singh,
Gopal ji of Shree Ramjanmbhumi Tirthkshetra Nyas, Prof PV Krishna Bhat, noted educationist
& former national president of ABVP, VC of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh university Dr
Pratibha Goyal, Director of IET Dr S S Mishra, Dr Sumita Singh director Statistics Agri & Crop
Insurance, UP state, . Dilip Ram Tripathi, Principal of Composite school, DFO Pranav
Jain, IFS, Sanjiv Rai and Dr Tejaswini Ananthkumar, Chairperson of Adamya Chetana and
Chairperson of board of Governors IIEST, WB and many students and faculty of colleges.
Dr Tejaswini Ananthkumar, in her speech explained the concept of Sasyagraha – the word
coined by Ananthkumar to promote Green Lifestyle to combat Climate change issues and
as a personal social responsibility (PSR). Tree planting is one of the activities under Sasyagraha.
Other activities that Adamya Chetana is promoting under Sasyagraha include Reusable Cutlery
bank that can be borrowed by anybody for FREE for use in their family or official functions such
as birthdays and marriages thus avoiding pile of garbage. She explained the significance of
plants. Sita Ashoka (Saraca asoca) and Shim Shipa are beautiful sacred trees significantly
referred in the Ramayan and with immense medicinal value. We have brought the saplings
from Kerala. We are committed to ensuring the nurturing and maintenance of these 300
saplings for the next three years. She thanked the other organisations who have joined hands
with Adamya Chetana in this noble cause. Notable among them are – Van Vibhag – Ayodhya,
Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Kerala Forest Research Institute, Initiatives for
Development Foundation, Gramserv Pvt Ltd, Ananthkumar Pratishthan and Siksha Sanskrithi
Udhaan Nyas.
Lallu Singh lauded the efforts of Adamya Chetana to start this initiative at Ayodhya. Heads
of both the institutions promised to ensure nurturing of planted saplings at their respective
locations. Gopal ji praised the efforts of Adamya Chetana and called upon this initiative of
creating Sita-Ashok vatikas all over the country that is started at Ayodhya.
Alok Ranjan Singh, Rahul Rai, Divyesh Pratap felicitated the dignitaries. Prof
