

120-Foot Chimney Successfully Reconstructed

The Commissioner of Bengaluru West City Corporation, Dr. Rajendra K.V., has informed that the Sumanahalli Animal Crematorium will be reopened from January 12, 2026.
The Sumanahalli Animal Crematorium had been closed for the past eight months due to the collapse of its chimney. The reconstruction of a new 120-foot chimney has now been successfully completed.
The animal crematorium at Sumanahalli, which is a major facility for the disposal of deceased pet animals and stray animals, had been closed for eight months following the chimney collapse on April 14, 2025.
The Engineering Department of the Bengaluru West City Corporation has reconstructed a strong and stable new chimney structure. With this upgrade, the facility is now ready to resume continuous services for animal lovers and the general public.
From January 12, the crematorium will be open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and cremation services for deceased animals will be available. For availing the service, the public may contact the phone number 9743454593.
