15 2023 10:08PM:Addressing a meeting held in connection with the clearance operation of large waterways under BBMP, he said that there is a need for more land surveyors to survey large waterways and lakes in the city, and the department of land surveying, revenue system and land records under the revenue department was instructed to take necessary steps to appoint more land surveyors.Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath instructed the officer to write a letter to the Land Records Department to depute more land surveyors for the survey work of encroachment clearance operations in major waterways and lakes. The places  encroached on large water channels in the city should be surveyed and marked by land surveyors and such encroachments should be cleared immediately as per the orders of Tehsildar. In the High Court, the cases with injunctions were quickly disposed of and instructions were given to carry out eviction operations. The revenue department has been instructed to identify the encroachments of the lake and Rajkaluve within the stipulated time. After identifying the encroachments, after the Tahsildars give orders to the encroachments, the corporation and the revenue department will conduct the encroachment clearance operation in collaboration with the police department.

Details of 75 encroachments cleared: The process of clearing encroachment of large water channels is actively going on in the city, and in the last 15 days, 62 encroachments have been cleared including 10 shops in 3 storied building in ABK, Gunjur, Karimammana Agrahara, Bellator and KR Pura survey number 69 in Mahdevpur. 75 encroachments have been cleared including 8 encroachments in Yalahanka zone and 5 encroachments in Bommanahalli zone.

Details of Major Waterway Encroachments:  3176 encroachments including new encroachments have been identified in the city and 2322 encroachments have been cleared so far. Another 854 encroachments need to be cleared, out of which 155 encroachment cases are in court. 487 orders for encroachments are under implementation. Officials of Rajkaluve Division informed in the meeting that orders have been passed by Tehsildar for 162 other encroachments and operations for encroachment clearance have to be carried out.

Carry out surveys of lake encroachments promptly:  It has been identified that there are 202 lakes under the jurisdiction of the corporation and 159 lakes are encroached. Accordingly, letters have been written to tehsildars about encroachment in 140 lakes. Out of this survey work of 40 lakes has been completed and survey work is to be done in 100 lakes. He instructed to carry out the work quickly in the rest of the lakes.
