Bengaluru, Sept. 16:

Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan, has instructed officials to prepare a feasibility report (action plan) for transforming Sunkenahalli Ward into a model ward.

During his inspection of various locations in the Gandhi Bazaar area today, he emphasized several key developmental measures: removing encroachments from footpaths, constructing pedestrian-friendly walkways, eliminating accident-prone “black spots”, clearing unauthorized cables, raising awareness among traders about waste management, designating specific areas for street vendors, and planting saplings alongside footpaths to enhance greenery.

The Commissioner stated that designated areas have already been identified for street vendors to conduct business on Gandhi Bazaar Road. Vendors must operate only within these allocated zones, and strict action will be taken against those who encroach beyond the permitted limits. He also directed officials to prevent vehicle parking on pedestrian pathways.

He instructed officials to prepare a roadmap addressing the logistical challenges and feasibility of implementing these initiatives.

Preparation for Inauguration of Multi-Level Car Parking Facility: The multi-level car parking facility constructed under the Smart City project in Gandhi Bazaar has been completed. The Commissioner directed the officials to initiate preparations for its official inauguration.

The facility includes 50 commercial shops on the ground and lower ground floors.
