Notices Issued to PGs Operating Without Trade License, Safety Measures, and Proper Hygiene

As per the orders of the Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Rajendra Cholan, an inspection of Paying Guest (PG) accommodations was conducted this morning under the leadership of the Additional Commissioner (Development), Daljit Kumar. The inspection covered the CV Raman Nagar and Shantinagar areas.During the inspection, details regarding cleanliness of PG premises, hygiene in kitchens, possession of trade licenses, and implementation of safety measures were obtained from PG owners or on-site PG managers and were thoroughly verified.

Several PGs that had not obtained trade licenses, failed to maintain hygiene, and had not implemented mandatory safety measures were issued notices on the spot. Additionally, kitchens found to be unhygienic and using spoiled vegetables were sealed after preparing a mahazar (inspection report).

PG Owners Denying Entry to Officials:In the Shantinagar area, when officials visited Garden PG for inspection, the owners denied entry to the premises for approximately 20 minutes. Subsequently, local police officials were called, and the inspection was carried out.

As the PG was operating without a license and was running an unauthorized kitchen on the terrace, a notice was issued warning that the PG would be sealed from next month. The notice was also affixed to the wall of the premises.
