Removal drive of dry and dangerous trees and branches intensified: Dr. Rajendra K.V.

Bengaluru, Feb. 17:

The removal drive of dry and dangerous trees and branches has been intensified in the West City Corporation, said Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V.

As per the directions of the Commissioner of Bengaluru West City Corporation, systematic tree maintenance work is being carried out by the Forest Division by deploying dedicated teams across the assembly constituencies of Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, Dasarahalli (part), Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajajinagar, Govindarajanagar, Malleshwaram, Vijayanagar, Basavanagudi, and Padmanabhanagar (part). Necessary action is being taken to remove trees and branches that are in dangerous condition, dried, obstruct transportation, or pose inconvenience or risk to the public.

Through this drive, from 02-09-2025 to 16-02-2026, action has been taken to remove a total of 246 trees and 2,407 branches.

Zone-wise details of removed trees and branches are as follows:

Zone-1 – Rajarajeshwari Nagar Zone:

Dry trees – 45
Dry branches – 530
Dangerous trees – 85
Dangerous branches – 402

Zone-2 – Malleshwaram Zone:

Dry trees – 57
Dry branches – 877
Dangerous trees – 59
Dangerous branches – 598

Total details of trees and branches removed in Bengaluru West City Corporation:

Dry trees – 102
Dry branches – 1,407
Dangerous trees – 144
Dangerous branches – 1,000

These operations have been undertaken on priority to prevent possible accidents and ensure public safety within the corporation limits. In the coming days, regular inspections of trees will continue and necessary action will be taken accordingly.
