Avail Private Services to Clear Waste from Vacant Sites – D.S. Ramesh
With the objective of making Bengaluru East City Corporation a clean, beautiful and liveable city, the “Freedom from Waste” Campaign has been launched from 1 August. As part of the campaign, the Corporation is undertaking an ongoing drive to clear waste, construction waste and debris from public places, roads and other locations within the Corporation limits, said Commissioner D.S. Ramesh.
As part of the Freedom from Waste Campaign, vacant site owners within the Corporation limits had already been informed through various media platforms to clear waste, construction waste and debris from their respective sites by 15 August. In the public interest, this deadline has now been extended up to 22 August, the Commissioner said.
As per Rule 18(1)(b) of the Solid Waste Management Bye-Laws, 2020, it is the mandatory responsibility of the concerned vacant-site owners to maintain their vacant sites in a clean and hygienic condition. In this regard, the Commissioner urged all vacant-site owners to immediately remove waste, garbage, soil and other materials accumulated on their sites and maintain them in a clean condition.
Vacant-site owners within the Corporation limits may, if required, avail themselves of the services of the following private service providers to clean their sites by 22 August.

All vacant-site owners within the jurisdiction of Bengaluru East City Corporation shall treat this public notice as an individual notice.
In the interest of public health and urban cleanliness, the Commissioner appealed to all vacant-site owners to mandatorily clear the waste, garbage, soil and other materials accumulated on their sites by 22 August and maintain their properties in a clean and hygienic condition.
