Munish Moudgil, Special Commissioner (Revenue) instructed the zonal officers to pay more attention to collecting property tax in BBMP.
Addressing a virtual meeting held today regarding various issues in the BBMP limits, he told the zonal officers to take the necessary action in collecting the outstanding property tax quickly as the 2024–25 financial year will conclude at the end of this month. The institutions and commercial properties that have more outstanding property tax in their respective zones of the BBMP should be visited and the property tax should be collected. He instructed taking appropriate measures to collect the property tax to reach the target set by the BBMP by the end of the month.
Collection of Rs 4604 crore: The BBMP has set a target of Rs 5210 crore of property tax for the financial year 2024-25. Out of this Rs 4604 crore is collected, which is 88.36 percent, has been collected in the current year.
Issuance of 2.25 lakh final e-Khata:The e-Khata system has been implemented across BBMP from October 2024 and the process of providing final e-Khata to citizens is actively being carried out and so far 2.25 lakh final e-Khatas have been issued.
Opportunity for entrepreneurs to provide e-Khata services:
The BBMP has taken an innovative action with a view to provide e-Khata to citizens at a faster pace. That is, young/local entrepreneurs within the BBMP limits should register through the BBMP’s website. After that, an opportunity will be provided to those entrepreneurs to earn money by providing e-Khata services to citizens.
Young/local entrepreneurs can register and earn money without paying any fee to the BBMP. The details of e-Aasthi services are as follows.
1. For final e-Khata data entry, acknowledgement print out (black and white) and total transaction charges for filing of eAasthi, payable to entrepreneur is Rs. 45 per e-Khata. No fee is payable to the BBMP.
2. For scanning the documents/ID proof and uploading them in the BBMP application, payable to the entrepreneur is Rs. 45 per page. No fee is payable to the BBMP.
3. For the final e-Khata printout, payable to the entrepreneur is Rs. 45 per e-Khata. Rs. 125/- per eKhata has to be paid online to the BBMP.
4. For e-Khata correction, mutation or any other application filing, payable to the entrepreneur is Rs. 45 per eKhata application. Only the mutation fee is to be paid online to the BBMP.
