*Bengaluru, March 11:*
*The Commissioner of Bengaluru North City Corporation, Pommala Sunil Kumar,* stated that auction proceedings will be conducted on *Friday, March 13 at 3:00 PM due to pending property tax arrears.*
*Within the jurisdiction of the Corporation, 47 properties in Zone-1 have property tax arrears amounting to ₹1,32,18,421, while 34 properties in Zone-2 have arrears amounting to ₹62,18,279. In total, property tax arrears of ₹1,94,36,700 are pending from 81 properties under the Bengaluru North City Corporation limits.*
As per the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act 2025, all property owners within the Corporation limits are required to pay property tax every financial year.
In cases where property tax has not been paid, action will be taken in accordance with the Property Tax Assessment, Collection and Administration Rules, 2024.
Accordingly, show-cause notices and demand notices have been issued to property tax defaulters as per the relevant laws and regulations. Details of the defaulters can be viewed on the Corporation’s official website https://bbmp.gov.in, where property tax payments can also be made. Even after providing sufficient opportunities, notices have been served to defaulting property owners through mobile messages, personal visits, and by affixing notices at the respective properties.
Despite multiple opportunities, properties with unpaid property tax dues have been decided to be subjected to distress sale (auction) as per the applicable laws and regulations. The list of defaulters is attached.
Earlier, these properties were brought for auction on 06/03/2026, but since no bidders came forward to participate in the auction process, the properties were temporarily retained under the Corporation.
The auction of these properties will now be conducted on Friday, 13/03/2026 at 3:00 PM in the 3rd Floor Hall of Yelahanka Mini Vidhana Soudha near N.E.S., Bengaluru – 560064, in the presence of the Joint Commissioners of Zone-1 and Zone-2. Members of the public and interested bidders are invited to participate in the auction process.
If the property owners clear their pending property tax before the auction, the respective property will be removed from the auction list. Property owners are also given an opportunity to submit their objections to the concerned Joint Commissioner’s office before the auction v process.
