Bengaluru, Jan. 16: Central City Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan informed that six Paying Guest (PG) accommodations were sealed for failing to maintain hygiene within the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation. Acting on the directions of Commissioner Rajendra Cholan, inspections were conducted today under the leadership of Health Officer Dr. shivakumar in the presence of Chickpet and Shivajinagar Medical Officers at 204 Paying Guest accommodation establishments. As a result, six PGs that failed to maintain cleanliness were sealed, and fines totaling ₹1.96 lakh were imposed on PGs found to have deficiencies. PHOTO CREDIT -GBA Bengaluru, Jan. 12:2025- As per the orders of the Commissioner, inspections were conducted on 12-01-2026 in Paying Guest (PG) accommodations operating in Jayanagar, Bengaluru South, BTM Layout, and Bommanahalli Assembly Constituency areas under the limits of Bengaluru South City Corporation. A total of 66 Paying Guest establishments were inspected to verify the availability of basic facilities such as safe drinking water, cleanliness, kitchen hygiene, safety measures, proper toilet facilities, fire safety equipment, installation of CCTV cameras, and possession of FSSAI food safety certification. 120-Foot Chimney Successfully Reconstructed Bengaluru, Jan. 09: The Commissioner of Bengaluru West City Corporation, Dr. Rajendra K.V., has informed that the Sumanahalli Animal Crematorium will be reopened from January 12, 2026. The Sumanahalli Animal Crematorium had been closed for the past eight months due to the collapse of its chimney. The reconstruction of a new 120-foot chimney has now been successfully completed. The animal crematorium at Sumanahalli, which is a major facility for the disposal of deceased pet animals and stray animals, had been closed for eight months following the chimney collapse on April 14, 2025.
