BNCC Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar has instructed all Census officials to carry out re-verification of locked and vacant houses to ensure comprehensive completion of the first phase of House Listing and Household Census for Census 2027 before the stipulated date of 15-05-2026.
In this regard, special “Mop-Up Round” operations are being conducted every evening and during holidays to revisit locked and vacant houses and ensure that no household is left out of the Census process.
As part of this activity, all Charge Officers, Assistant Charge Officers, Supervisors, and Enumerators are actively participating in verifying Enumeration Block (EB) boundaries, locked houses, and vacant houses.
This special re-verification drive has significantly improved the overall Census coverage, and efforts are being taken to ensure 100% successful completion of the first phase of House Listing and Household Census operations.
