Rapid Clearance Operations of Uprooted Trees Carried Out Across Central City Corporation Limits
Instructions Issued to Remove Dangerous and Dried Trees and Branches as a Monsoon Precautionary Measure
Due to the recent heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms and strong winds in Bengaluru city, several trees and branches were uprooted, causing major inconvenience to public movement.
In this context, the Forest Division of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation has been continuously working on a war footing to clear all uprooted trees and fallen branches.
Trees and branches that had fallen on roads were immediately cut and moved to the roadside to facilitate smooth vehicular movement. Subsequently, all fallen trees and branches are being removed on a priority basis, stated Shri Daljit Kumar, Development Commissioner of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation.
Within the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation, from April 29 till date, 136 trees and 269 branches have fallen due to rain and wind. Out of these, all 136 fallen trees have been cleared, and 264 branches have been removed. Forest Department officials stated that the process of clearing the remaining trees and branches is currently underway.
Instructions Issued to Remove Dangerous and Dried Trees and Branches as a Precautionary Measure
As a precautionary measure during the monsoon season, the public is requested to cooperate with the Central City Corporation by reporting dangerous or dried trees and branches found within the corporation limits to the Forest Division officials or the control room numbers for necessary removal in the interest of public safety.
