Bengaluru, June 16:““In an active drive undertaken by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, unauthorized or excess construction in buildings within the Yelahanka Zone is being cleared. Today, excess floors or unauthorized parts of 12 buildings have been demolished, stated Commissioner of Yelahanka Zone Karigowda.
““Demolition operations are being conducted in the Yelahanka and Byatarayanapura Assembly constituencies where building owners have violated sanctioned plans by constructing additional or unauthorized floors.““Yelahanka Assembly Constituency:““> In Kempegowda Ward No. 01 of Yelahanka Subdivision, at Property No. 24, Shivanahalli Main Road, Surabhi Layout, Yelahanka, Bengaluru – 64, permission was granted for construction of a building on a 40 X 60 site comprising stilt + ground + first + second floors. However, the owner constructed an additional third floor, which has now been demolished.““In Attur Ward No. 03, Yelahanka Suburban Subdivision, at Property Nos. 3 and 4, Muneshwara Layout, 1st Cross, Yelahanka Suburban, Bengaluru – 560064, a building was constructed comprising stilt + ground + first + second + third floors without obtaining plan approval. Since the site falls under a “B” khata, no building plan approval was issued. Even if approval had been granted, it would have been limited to stilt + ground + first + second floors. The unauthorized third floor has been demolished.“““> In the same ward, at Property Nos. 15 and 16, Muneshwara Layout, 5th Cross, Yelahanka Suburban, Bengaluru – 560064, a similar unauthorized construction (stilt + ground + first + second + third floors) without plan approval was found on a 40 X 60 site. As the site is a “B” khata property, no permission had been given. The additional third floor has been demolished.““> In Yelahanka New Town Ward No. 04, at Property No. 1200/322D in “A” Sector, approval had been granted for G + 2 floors. However, an additional floor was being constructed. Officials visited the site and cleared the unauthorized construction.““In Chikkabommasandra Nanjundappa Layout, Property No. 17, Yelahanka Suburban, Ward No. 04, Bengaluru – 560064, approval had been given for stilt + ground + first + second floors. The owner had constructed an unauthorized third floor, and the demolition process has begun.“““Byatarayanapura Assembly Constituency:““> In Ward No. 05, Srirampura, MCECHS , Property No. 790/964/1, permission was granted for construction of S + G + 2 floors. However, the building was under construction with B + G + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 floors. The additional unauthorized floors have been demolished.““In Ward No. 06 (Jakkur), Property No. 767, Khata No. 323/322/767, MCECHS Layout, Srirampura, Bengaluru, plan approval was granted for stilt + ground + first + second floors on a 104.16 sq.m site. Deviations from the approved plan were observed, and the unauthorized parts were removed by officials.“““> In Kodigehalli, Property No. 08, 2nd Cross, 1st Main, Balaji Layout, a plan had been approved for basement + ground + first + second + third floors on a 40 X 100 site. An unauthorized fourth floor was constructed, which has now been demolished.““> In the newly formed Ward No. 10 of the Byatarayanapura zone, at Tennis Village Layout, Property No. 05, permission was granted for ground, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. An unauthorized 4th floor had been constructed, which was demolished as part of this operation.““In Yogesh Nagar, Hebbal Kempapura, under Ward No. 10, an individual named Prabhu had constructed ground + 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th floors without plan approval. The 4th floor was partially completed. The owner has submitted a letter to the BBMP requesting 15 days’ time to voluntarily demolish the unauthorized construction.““> In Hosatti Layout under Kodigehalli Ward, the property owner Saraswati constructed ground + 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th floors, with the 4th floor being in violation of building regulations. The demolition of the 4th floor has been initiated. The owner has requested 10 days’ time to voluntarily carry out the demolition.““In HMT Layout, 4th Block, Vidyaranyapura Ward, at Site No. 695, a building was found to have been constructed beyond the permissible number of floors. Action is being taken to demolish the excess construction. ““Notices Issued to Building Owners: Notices have already been issued to building owners in the Yelahanka Zone who have constructed beyond their approved plans. Some owners have voluntarily begun demolition. In cases where owners have failed to comply, the BBMP is actively demolishing the unauthorized structures in the presence of officials. All associated demolition costs will be recovered from the respective property owners.““Warning to Building Owners:““A strict warning has been issued to all property owners in the Yelahanka Zone: they must not deviate from the approved building plans. Any violations will result in demolition of the unauthorized structures and imposition of penalties.““Officials including the Joint Director of Town Planning, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, and Assistant Directors of Town Planning were present during the demolition operations.
