Malleshwara, Rajajinagar Markets Under Scrutiny as BWCC Demands Strict Lease Enforcement
Bengaluru, August 12:
Dr. Rajendra K.V., Commissioner of Bengaluru West City Corporation, held a meeting today at the Corporation office regarding the Corporation’s Market Department.
He instructed the officials to inspect the overall condition, including the maintenance and grievances of shops in the markets under both divisions of the Corporation, and submit a report.
Ensure that lease rules are not violated (such as sub-leasing, etc.) in all markets under the Corporation’s jurisdiction, including Malleshwara Market, Devaiah Park Market, Rajajinagar Shopping Complex, and Gayatrinagar Market. Verify rate revisions and payments. If the buildings are not in good condition, take necessary action in coordination with the Engineering Department. Review the Metro compensation regarding Devaiah Park Market. Staff members must visit daily to understand the ground reality and provide updates by creating a WhatsApp group, he directed.
Assistant Revenue Officer (Market) Jyothilakshmi Naik, Revenue Inspectors, and Tax Inspectors were present.
