Instruction Issued to Replace Damaged Drain Slab Cover: Snehal

Bengaluru, June 13:

The Zonal Commissioner of the East Snehal, has directed BWSSB officials to replace damaged slab cover of drains within the East Zone limits.

While inspecting the pedestrian pathway from 12th Main Road, Indiranagar to Ganapathi Enclave, she stated that during the monsoon, water overflows through the damaged slabs of drains, causing inconvenience. Hence, she instructed that any damaged slabs covering drains along the roads must be immediately replaced.

Order to Remove Defunct Electric Poles:

Several old and unused electric poles on the footpath of Indiranagar’s 100 Feet Road are obstructing pedestrian movement. Instructions have been issued to remove these poles at the earliest.

Notice to Building Owners:

Construction materials have been placed on footpaths at building construction sites, creating serious inconvenience for the public. The concerned building owners are to be issued notices and fined accordingly.

Proposal for Skywalk near Flyover:

Due to the absence of a pedestrian pathway on the Domlur flyover connecting Indiranagar to Koramangala, the general public faces difficulty while commuting. As a solution, the Zonal Commissioner suggested either constructing a pedestrian path on the Domlur flyover or building a skywalk on Old Airport Road.

Directive to Clear Footpath Encroachments:

Encroachments on pedestrian pathways were identified, and instructions were given for immediate clearance.

Filling of Road Potholes:

Potholes on the roads are hindering vehicular and pedestrian movement. Orders were given to promptly fill all potholes.

Removal of Hazardous Trees:

Dry and hazardous trees and branches overhanging onto roads were identified, and directions were issued for their removal.

3 km Pedestrian Pathway Inspection:

The Zonal Commissioner conducted a 3-kilometer inspection of the pedestrian pathway from Sony Signal to Ganapathi Enclave via the Domlur flyover. She directed that encroachments be cleared, repairs be made where necessary, unauthorized cables and banners be removed, and drainage issues that cause water stagnation during rains be addressed

.Present during the inspection were Joint Commissioner Saroja, Chief Engineer Suguna, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Traffic Police Officers, and officials from BBMP, BESCOM, BWSSB, the ASC, and other departments.
