K-RERA: Necessary action will be taken to recover fines – Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan

Necessary action will be taken to recover fines against those who violate the rules of the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority, said Housing, Urban Development and Minority Welfare Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan.

During the Question and Answer Session of the Legislative Council today, the Minister, responding to a pointed question by Council member S.L. Bhojegowda, said that 3129 proposals have been received for approval by the RERA Authority in the past years, and 2701 proposals have been approved. 243 proposals are pending.

He said that 633 proposals were rejected and 19 proposals were disposed of.

The authority has so far registered a total of 11495 complaints against those violating K-RERA rules. 11126 have been registered in relation to projects that violated the Karnataka Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017. In 1660 cases of violation, a fine of Rs. 758,85,87,682/- has been imposed as on 31.12.2024. It was not stated that necessary action will be taken for the recovery of the fine.
