Measures taken by the Bengaluru Central City Corporation for the Karaga Mahotsav:

The Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation,ย  Rajendra Cholan, reviewed the measures undertaken by the City Corporation in view of the historic Bengaluru Karaga Mahotsav.

On this occasion, he inspected the Dharmaraya Swamy Temple and surrounding areas, and instructed officials of various departments to work in coordination to ensure that the Karaga mahotsav is conducted without any obstacles and to strive for its success.

Measures taken by the Bengaluru Central City Corporation for the Karaga Mahotsav:

Decorative Lighting
The Corporation has arranged decorative lighting at Dharmaraya Swamy Temple and surrounding roads, junctions, GBA head office, the Sapta Matrika Temple within the head office premises, Corporation Circle, Mysore Bank Road, Town Hall Road, JC Road, and other areas. The colorful lighting has enhanced the visual appeal.

Filling of Potholes
Potholes on main roads and streets along the Karaga procession route from Dharmaraya Swamy Temple have been filled to ensure smooth movement.

Cleanliness Drive and Removal of Black Spots
Daily cleaning operations are being carried out. Special attention is given to the temple surroundings and procession routes. Waste is cleared in two shifts, with additional sanitation workers and auto tippers deployed. Garbage-prone โ€œblack spotsโ€ caused by public littering have been cleared.

Beautification Works
Beautification has been undertaken by painting curbs along roads near Corporation Circle (in front of the GBA head office), Town Hall, KG Road, and surrounding areas.

Cleaning of Road Dividers and Watering Plants
Road dividers, roadside areas, and islands are being cleaned regularly, and plants are watered daily to maintain greenery.

Deployment of Health Teams:
The health department has arranged for doctors, nursing staff, and ambulances for emergency services.

Instructions issued by the Commissioner during inspection:

* Ensure continuous cleanliness operations
* Install additional decorative lighting in and around the temple
* Maintain coordination between Corporation officials, Police Department, and Muzrai (Endowment) Department
* Review and ensure adequacy of security cameras

During the inspection, Additional Commissioner (Development) Daljit Kumar, Chief Engineer Vijay Kumar Haridas, Superintendent Engineer Chandrashekhar, Executive Engineer (Electrical), Chickpet Executive Engineer, and other officials were present.
