Cleanliness drive carried out on 15 major roads across 6 constituencies under Central City Corporation limits: Rajendra Cholan,Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation.

Bengaluru, Jan. 18,2026-

The Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation,  Rajendra Cholan, informed that a mass cleanliness drive has been undertaken from this morning on 15 major roads under the jurisdiction of Bengaluru Central City Corporation.

Details of the locations where the cleanliness drive was carried out:

1. In C.V. Raman Nagar constituency – within the limits of Wards 114 and 80, cleanliness work was carried out on Channasandra Main Road, Indiranagar 6th Main Road, 80 Feet Road, 12th Main Road, and Kasturinagar 2nd Main Road.

2. In Chickpet constituency – within Ward 119 limits, cleanliness work was carried out on N.R. Road, Motinagar, and surrounding areas.

3. In Shantinagar constituency – within Ward 111 limits, cleanliness work was carried out on Mother Teresa Road, M.G. Road, and surrounding roads.

4. In Gandhinagar constituency – within the limits of Cottonpet Ward 120, cleanliness work was carried out from Shanthala Silk Signal to Cottonpet via Police Road.

5. In Chamrajpet constituency – cleanliness work was carried out on Chalavadi Palya Main Road and in the “Balekai Mandi” premises.

6. In Shivajinagar constituency – cleanliness work was carried out on Church Road, M.M. Road, and surrounding roads.

Cleanliness work at Manekshaw Parade Ground:

In connection with the state-level Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26 at the Manekshaw Parade Ground, the Chief Engineer, Smt. Suguna, along with other officials, inspected the parade ground today. Necessary preparations are being made including leveling the ground using rollers, sprinkling water to prevent dust, carrying out cleaning works, and other required arrangements.

Removal of unauthorized flex and banners:

During today’s cleanliness drive, unauthorized flex boards and banners that had been installed were removed.

Removal of dry branches and twigs:

Dry branches and twigs at various places including Krishna Rao Park were removed by the Forest Department.

As part of today’s mass cleanliness drive, JCBs, lorries, tractors, and auto tippers were used to remove roadside and footpath waste, silt from drains, unused pushcarts, encroachments on footpaths, plastic waste, scrap materials, unusable furniture, flex boards, banners, dried tree branches, and unauthorized cable wires.

In today’s cleanliness drive, Executive Engineers of the respective divisions, DGMs, AGMs, Assistant Executive Engineers, officials from the Forest and Horticulture Departments, supervisors, gangmen, pourakarmikas, and auto tipper drivers participated.
