Action Initiated for Auction of 71 Properties in West City Corporation Zone-2: Sangappa

Bengaluru, Feb. 18:-

The Joint Commissioner, Sangappa, has informed that auction proceedings will be conducted on February 21 as property tax arrears amounting to Rs. 1.14 crore are pending from 71 properties within the jurisdiction of Bengaluru West City Corporation.

Property tax collected from properties under Malleswaram Zone-2 of the Bengaluru West City Corporation is utilized for the development and maintenance of essential civic infrastructure and public amenities. As per the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2025, all property owners within the Corporation limits are required to pay property tax every financial year.

In cases of non-payment, action is taken in accordance with the Property Tax Assessment, Collection and Administration Rules, 2024.

As per the relevant Act and Rules, show-cause notices and demand notices have been issued to property tax defaulters. Details of the defaulters can be viewed and property tax can be paid through the official website: https://bbmp.gov.in. Despite providing sufficient opportunities, notices have also been served through mobile messages, personal visits, and by affixing notices at the property locations.

As the identified property owners have failed to clear their dues despite repeated opportunities, it has been decided to initiate distress sale proceedings in accordance with the Act and Rules (list of defaulters enclosed).

Properties that were notified for auction on February 17, 2026, but remained unsold, along with properties proposed for auction on February 21, 2026, will be auctioned collectively on February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Office of the Joint Commissioner, Malleswaram Zone-2, No.145, 26th Cross Road, 2nd Block, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru – 560010. Members of the public and interested bidders are invited to participate in the auction.

If the outstanding property tax is paid in full before the auction process, the concerned property will be withdrawn from the auction. Property owners are also permitted to submit their objections to the Office of the Joint Commissioner prior to the auction proceedings.
