Following the directions of Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Sri Pommala Sunil Kumar and based on public complaints, officials and staff from the Animal Husbandry Department conducted a special inspection of meat shops in the HBR Layout area under the jurisdiction of Bengaluru North City Corporation.
During the inspection, several violations were found in some meat stalls, including unsanitary conditions, lack of cleanliness, improper storage of meat, and non-compliance with health regulations.
In the interest of public health, action was taken against the establishments that violated the rules, and a fine of ₹5,000 was imposed. The concerned traders were also instructed to maintain proper hygiene in their meat stalls, strictly follow health regulations, and obtain valid trade licenses.
Corporation officials warned that continuous inspections of chicken, mutton, and fish shops will be carried out across the city, and strict action will be taken against those who violate health and hygiene regulations.
The Commissioner of Bengaluru North City Corporation also appealed to the public to purchase food items only from hygienic and clean establishments in order to safeguard their health.
During the inspection, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. S.P. Lokesh, staff members Chandrashekar and Narayana Reddy, along with other Corporation officials were present.
