BENGALURU — In a major enforcement drive against zoning violations, the Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) on Wednesday closed down eight commercial establishments operating illegally within the SFS 208 residential layout in Yelahanka.
The crackdown was executed by Health Department officials following explicit directives from BNCC Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar. Municipal authorities initiated the action in response to mounting public complaints regarding civic inconvenience, moving to enforce residential zoning regulations in strict compliance with Supreme Court orders and the provisions of the GBA Act, 2024.
The list of targeted businesses ordered to cease operations includes popular local eateries and commercial outlets:
- Big Daddy’s BBQ Shawarma
- Jain Thatte Idly
- Natty Style Biryani Mane
- RS Motors
- Dense Smoke
- Holige Mane
- Healthy Eyes
- Namma Biryani
Warning of continued stringency, Commissioner Kumar stated that the civic body will maintain strict surveillance across residential zones. The BNCC has issued an advisory reminding property owners and business operators that constructing commercial spaces or running business activities in designated residential areas without authorized approvals remains strictly prohibited, warning of swift legal action against future violations.
