








Strict Action Will Be Taken if Indira Canteens Fail to Maintain Hygiene and Serve Timely Meals: Rajendra Cholan
BENGALURU: (Sep 26) Rajendra Cholan, Commissioner of the Central City Corporation, visited several locations around the K.R. Market area this morning for inspection. During his visit to the Indira Canteen located at K.R. Market, he noted poor hygiene, irregular meal service, staff residing within the canteen premises, and damaged water pipelines. He issued a stern warning to the canteen management, emphasizing that failure to maintain cleanliness and timely food service would invite strict action. He also instructed that staff must not reside within the canteen premises.
Following this, the Commissioner visited the Indira Kitchen facility on S.P. Road, which was found to be non-functional. He ordered its immediate reactivation and resumption of operations.
Directive to Repair Elevator at K.R. Market:Upon inspecting the K.R. Market underpass, the Commissioner found the elevator to be in a state of disrepair and instructed that it be immediately fixed.Noting the accumulation of waste in the pay-and-park area beneath the market, he directed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of a multi-level parking facility in that location.
Coordination Meeting to Be Held on Waste and Parking Management at K.R. Market:To address solid waste management and parking issues at K.R. Market, the Commissioner instructed the Engineering and Solid Waste Management Departments, along with the Police Department, to submit a comprehensive report. He also directed that a coordination meeting be convened to discuss and implement effective solutions.
Instructions were also issued to take necessary steps and submit a report regarding the development of the traffic island at the junction of N.R. Road and S.J.P. Road.
Directive for Development of Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar (S.J.P.) Park:The Commissioner observed that only a part of Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar (S.J.P.) Park is being maintained, while the remaining portion is underdeveloped. He directed the Horticulture Department to take immediate steps to develop and maintain the entire park.
After the completion of white-topping work on S.P. Road, the Commissioner suggested organizing a weekly “Walkathon” for the public.
Finally, during his inspection of the ongoing construction of the Quality Control Department building on S.P. Road, he directed that the construction work be completed at the earliest.
