Register Criminal Cases Against Those Installing Illegal Advertisements: Maheshwar Rao.
Instructions to Conduct Ward Committee Meetings Regularly
Bengaluru, March 05:
Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao instructed officials to register criminal cases against individuals who install advertisements illegally within the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru West City Corporation.
While speaking at the public interaction meeting held today at the Malleshwaram IPP Centre, organized to personally hear and address grievances of citizens in the West City Corporation limits, he gave necessary instructions to the officials for better governance.
He stated that appropriate action must be taken to remove illegal advertisements within the West City Corporation limits. If anyone installs advertisements illegally in the future, criminal cases must be registered against them. Additionally, he directed officials to also file criminal cases against those who print such illegal advertisements.
Criminal Cases to Be Registered by Appointed Officers:
To ensure criminal cases are registered against those installing illegal advertisements, an officer should be specifically appointed from the legal cell. Similarly, officers should be appointed in the other four city corporations as well to initiate criminal cases against those responsible for illegal advertisements.
Complete Asphalting Works Quickly:
He instructed executive engineers to expedite works such as asphalting of arterial and sub-arterial roads, ward roads, development of footpaths, and desilting of roadside drains within the GBA limits, and to complete the works by the end of April. He also directed officials to periodically submit progress updates along with photographs.
West City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. stated that officials of the forest department have been instructed to procure a crane through the corporation to remove dangerous trees and dried branches from large trees posing risks.
He also informed that towing vehicles have already been purchased to remove abandoned vehicles parked along roadsides within the West City Corporation limits. Efforts are underway to identify a designated space to dispose of these abandoned vehicles, and towing operations will begin once the space is finalized.
Conduct Ward Committee Meetings:
Officials were instructed to conduct ward committee meetings in all wards under the West City Corporation and address citizens’ grievances directly within the wards to ensure faster resolution.
101 Complaints Received from Citizens:
During the public interaction meeting, 101 complaints were received from citizens regarding issues such as waste management, illegal constructions, e-Khata issues, e-Swatthu (EPID), vehicle parking on footpaths, and other civic concerns. Officials were directed to review these complaints and resolve the issues promptly.
Major Grievances Submitted by Citizens:
* Request to repair the drinking water unit in Thyagarajanagar.
* Request to develop the Ganeshapuram Park in Herohalli.
* Request to clear encroachments on footpaths in Anjana Nagar where commercial activities are causing inconvenience to pedestrians.
* Request to construct a public toilet on the road in Rajajinagar 4th Block.
* Request to effectively control illegal advertisements being installed in Attiguppe area.
* Request to remove concrete placed around trees on Sampige Road.
* Request to ensure welfare programmes reach beneficiaries effectively.
On this occasion, Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd. CEO Kareegowda, West City Corporation Additional Commissioner (Development) Digvijay Bodke, Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Manjunath Swamy, Joint Commissioner Sangappa, Chief Engineers, Deputy Commissioner, Health and Revenue Officers and other officials were present.
