Bengaluru, May 22:Preeti Gehlot, Special Commissioner of the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Management, has announced that 63 out of the 183 lakes within the limits of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) have reached full capacity due to the significant rainfall over the past week.The total storage capacity of the lakes within BBMP limits is 32,514 million litres. In April 2025, the overall water storage had declined to 10,595 million litres, with only 3 lakes filled to capacity. Bengaluru, May 22:Preeti Gehlot Special Commissioner for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Management, has appealed to the public to report any instances where entry to parks within the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) limits is denied during designated hours.To ensure greater convenience for the public, the BBMP has revised the operating hours of its 1,287 parks. As per the circular issued by the Chief Commissioner on June 12, 2024, all parks are to remain open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.The circular clearly states that no park under BBMP limits could deny entry to the public during these hours.
